What's the consensus on the best thymol to syup ratio. There seems to quite a variation in the reccommmended recipe. This spring I went with 5 lbs thymol to a tanker of syrup (45,000 lbs; about 4000 gallons). No ill effects, however there was a little crystal formation on the surface of the syrup tank. Would using more alcohol to dissolve crystals make any difference. The crystals were completely dissolved when added to the 10% water before syrup pumped in. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
