The 1934 reconstruction of the 1676 Maryland Statehouse in St. Mary's City is on a parcel adjacent to the original site since the original site is now a cemetery .

in proximity? Or directly on top of? Historic St. Mary's City in Maryland has a number of reconstructions built directly on top of the original sites, the most amazing being the reconstructed 17th century chapel.
