I am submitting this announcement for a colleague, who is seeking
applications for an archaeological survey on historic mining lands in
Alaska.

The Bureau of Land Management is currently advertising a cooperative
agreement numbered ARRA-BLM-AK-RFR-10-1888 on the http://www.grants.gov
website. This project is designed to be a partnership between the
Bureau and a nonprofit (i.e. museum, university, preservation group,
etc.) to undertake extensive archaeological survey on public land in
Alaska for the
purpose of identifying hazards located on abandoned mine lands. The
total estimated funding for this project is $500,000. The duration of
the project is anticipated to be 3 years. Please check grants.gov if
you are interested in this opportunity. This advertisement closes on
February 10.
