Something that seems to not be brought up is that in past "clear" CCD diagnoses mention is made that no robbing takes place subsequent to die out and no re-habitation by swarms during swarm season. Packages placed in "infected" hives seem to follow the CCD procedure and subsequently also disappear.
At least the above is what I have gleaned in past discussions concerning CCD symptoms.
