Okay .... it's been a few weeks, but I finally had an opportunity to see an
episode of American Digger (episode where they are digging in Alaska) and
to be perfectly honest ... some people should not be allowed to copulate!
It's bad enough for someone to indiscriminately promote "pot hunting" on
national television, but when they're not the sharpest tool in the shed
really begs the question of the quality of television programing these
days.
At one point during the episode the diggers find a bear trap and Savage
(chief digger) states that the trap was used to catch "2000 lbs brown
bears". Now I don't know about you, but I would love to see a 2000 lbs
brown bear! From the best of my knowledge, the largest, somewhat
questionable, recorded GRIZZLY was 1500 lbs! Be that as it may, by far my
favorite moment was when Savage was squeezing the bottle of flammable
liquid into a fire. Some how I think it would have made an even better
episode if the flames sucked back into the bottle and exploded. I know of
someone who this happened to and ..... it's not a pretty sight.
The long and short of it is that although the entire premise of this
television series is highly questionable, and lacks any kind of conscious
morals regarding the preservation or proper recording of the buried past, I
don't think that we have to worry about this series lasting too longest.
When you have a moron at the helm of a group of diggers, I think the
viewing public will quickly catch on about the sub-standard quality of this
program ... if Savage in the meantime doesn't some how kill himself through
his own stupidity.
...... Just some additional thoughts!
