Dear Sir/Madam,
The Mining History Centre in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region (France),
the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum in Bochum (Germany), the National Coal
Mining Museum for England in Wakefield (England) and the Bois du
Cazier in Marcinelle (Belgium) are organising on 30 November, 1 and 2
December 2010 an international seminar on the subject of ‘The social
status of coalminers throughout the world’, throughout all of the
periods of coal mining, including the present day.
Speakers from many countries - Italy, Poland, Slovakia, the United
States, Australia, China, Chile, Austria… - have been approached to
speak on coalmining business models, the status of the miners, their
working conditions, the specific legislation or even the social
benefits.
You will find the programme for this seminar at www.heros-ou-
martyrs.com. I would be grateful if you could distribute it within
your network and particularly in university circles.
If you require any more information on this subject please get in touch.
Thanking you in advance your interest in this seminar.
Yours faithfully,
André DUBUC
