Hi in my role as co-editor of Post-Medieval archaeology I am editing a
paper about c15-C18 armament foundry in Dubrovnik. The excavator's have
produced half of a round iron shot c. 10cms with a hollow section only
it looks too tube like and small for a normal incendiary shell.
Thoughts that have crossed my mind include a failed attempt at making a
bar shot though it could have been intended as a gate ornament?? Royal
Armouries weren't much help. If anyone would like to see a jpeg email
me(with the excavator's permission) and I'll post by return.
