Dear colleague,
The deadline for the 2009 SHA Dissertation Prize competition is fast approaching on July 18, 2008. Do you have a student or know of someone who has finished an outstanding dissertation in historical archaeology within the 3 years prior to 30 June 2008? If so, you are strongly encouraged to nominate and submit their dissertation for consideration. There is still time! Nominations must be made by non-student SHA members. More information on the prize and on the submission requirements can be found on the SHA web site (www.sha.org).
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact the chair of the SHA Dissertation Prize Subcommittee, James E. Ayres, at [log in to unmask], 520.325.4435 (phone), or 520.620.1432 (fax).
If you do plan to submit a dissertation, please notify me immediately via email or phone. If I am unavailable, please contact Terry Majewski, a member of the subcommittee, at [log in to unmask], 520.721.4309 (phone), or 520.298.7044 (fax).
Jim Ayres
