I was surprised when I reviewed the research on queen larva selection by
bees, which has generally found an absence of nepotism.

Occasionally I graft larvae from more than one queen into a cell bar.  I
don't notice any difference in acceptance, but this would be interesting to
investigate in a controlled trial.

It would also be interesting to put a trace of added brood pheromone into
the cups to see whether one could stimulate more immediate feeding of jelly
to freshly grafted larvae.
