a person in a wheel chair do
ot need to be messing with bees in Arizona.
We're all getting older and frailer and (thanks to Langstroth!) prone to beekeeper's back. Beekeeping, at least on an amateur level, is not necessarily just for the fit, strong and agile and in 'Getting the Best from Your Bees', Dave MacFawn and I mention in passing one or two ways in which people challenged in this way can keep bees. I intend to explore this a little further and would welcome comments on or off list. My current ideas are based on the Slovenian model of hive (illustrated in the book) or versions of the TBH that would enable it to be tilted so as to enable combs easily to be manipulated from the sitting position.
