?I said:
>> >The organophosphates are basically gone when surface sprayed after 77

Again I am refering to the subject of the discussion:"Chemicals in our food"
The amount of organophosphate residiue left on the apples is almost none
existant after 77 days and we were told by a researcher at a apple meeting
than if peeled would not be detected in the flesh.
as opposed to an unknown amount of systemics which according to the Bayer
label (don't take my word for what the label says take a look next time in
Walmart or a farm store) can be applied the day of harvest. Will the person
with a single tree pour the whole bottle around the base of the tree?
I think as people learn these products are based on nicotine the general
public is going to start voicing opposition. Has little to do with the
bee/neonic discussion.
>> Mullin (2010) found chlorpyrifos (an organophosphate) in 63% of the wax
> samples from beehives that he analyzed.
Along with hundreds of other chemicals and at what level?
Still the discussion is chemicals in Food and I say my apples are less
contaminated being surface sprayed than a fruit with a systemic pesticide.
You never answer my questions except with another question.
Please answer this question:
Why does the Bayer label for orange say to stop use a couple months before
harvest?
How about this question:
If the amount of imidacloprid is safe for humans then why not let the
Florida orange growers use right up till harvest?
Even my orange grower friends are surprised by the label on the fruit tree
spray sold in walmart.I showed a bottle to several and they had a big laugh
at the Bayer claims!
10 years ago the word nicotine might have not caused concern but today with
new smoking bans and national adds about the health risk with nicotine use I
think *in my opinion* those selling the neonics are going to be fighting a
tough PR problem as consumers learn nicotine at even a low level IS in their
food.
