I'd like to make a correction. Normally I think it would be off topic but this does border on liability of product and advice for beekeepers.
The woman that sued McDonalds over the hot coffee was indeed scarred.
The woman's name was Stella Liebeck.
"Liebeck was wearing cotton sweatpants; they absorbed the coffee and held it against her skin, scalding her thighs, buttocks, and groin. Liebeck was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that she had suffered third-degree burns on six percent of her skin and lesser burns over sixteen percent. She remained in the hospital for eight days while she underwent skin grafting. During this period, Liebeck lost 20 pounds (9 kg, nearly 20% of her body weight), reducing her down to 83 pounds (38 kg). Two years of medical treatment followed."
[Liebeck v. McDonald's Restaurants, docket entry from nmcourts.com: :"08/18/1994 NCJ: JURY TRIAL 12 PERSON::Filing Judgment entered solely against DF McDonald's and to PL for compensatory damages of $160,000.00 and punitive damages of 0$2,700,000.00plus interest and costs]
That said...
You are correct though that simply saying "place in the microwave" without warning people is dangerous thing these days. Honey heats quickly in a microwave and like most liquids heated this way there are layers of radically different temperatures that can cause expansion like bubbling when removed.
I would also like to add that there are all sorts of regulations and liabilities regarding linking products to medical and health benefits as well. Its not well regulated but you should always be careful to follow the law when making such claims.
