Subject: Ancestral Lands VISTA Recruitment!

Please help us recruit!

Ancestral Lands Program is recruiting for an individual to fill an Americorps VISTA position at Bandelier National Monument. The position will work out of Bandelier to support development of additional Ancestral Lands Program groups in the Northern Rio Grande area. The application deadline is extended to the end of May, but we'd like to place someone by early June. The position is paid with a stipend and education award, and there is housing available at Bandelier for an entire year! From Ancestral Lands (a flyer is attached, too):

The Ancestral Lands Program is currently seeking applicants for our 2017 AL VISTA positions. These positions are in various locations throughout the country, and will work to bring together Corps, Tribes, and Land Management Agencies to support developing more tribal-focused Corps programs. These programs provide opportunities for Native youth and young adults to reconnect with nature through conducting important conservation project work. This often entails camping out in remote wilderness, learning land stewardship work skills such as chainsaw, fencing, trail building, habitat restoration, and undergoing various training on personal and professional development. The AL VISTAs will get to play an exciting role in developing these burgeoning programs for the betterment of their tribal communities and lands.
