Hello colleagues,
I'm Lee Bennett, a consulting archaeologist specializing in the historic period. My interests lie in homesteads, ranching, mining, and transportation. I've worked in WA, ID, UT, MT, and CO and enjoy the regional variety as well as finding wide-ranging patterns. In addition to working as a consultant, I've put in several years as a Forest Service archaeologist and a district ranger. I've also taught anthropology, sociology, and human geography courses in the Seattle, Tacoma, Green River, and southeastern UT areas, and was an instructor in the archaeology technician program based at the Edge of the Cedars State Park and Museum at Blanding, UT. My career has included laboratory analysis, excavation, classroom instruction, mitigation, construction monitoring, and lots of miles of ground-pounding section 106 work.
