Tariffs work better as in the U.S.  beekeepers pointing to serious issues 
with Chinese honey (contaminants such as bugs & mice plus filth and 
chlorampinical ) did little to stop the flow as the *powers that bee* said 
the contaminants such as filth could be filtered out and the level of 
antibiotics would not hurt a *healthy* person. I am giving* my version* of 
what the FDA said but of course if the above was found in a barrel the 
inspector happened to be looking into then of course the load would be 
rejected. It is curious that no packer has ever to my knowledge ever 
reported *to the FDA* such contamination as many people which have worked at 
those packing plants have seen the above and said so at national meetings.

My advice to the U.K. beekeepers is to work on the tariff issue *if* the 
issue is being fueled by competition rather than GMO pollen or HMF's in 
honey which I suspect it is.These issues will only stop unfair competition 
for awhile in my opinion.

In the U.S. we need the tariffs to keep China from dumping on us. U.S. 
beekeepers can not compete with China on price ONLY QUALITY!
