hello!
As i have no idea if this is the right forum to ask my question, i seek your advice on where to post this question OR, as chance may strike me with lightning twice, maybe someone knows this species already. I have encountered an interesting bee species in central africa, building its nests below leaves close to small creeks in old-growth, primary forests. The bees are about 2-4 cm in size and black with yellow rings. wings are thin and (metallic) blue. however, their most distinguished feature is the amount of pain they induce. I was able to kill one (after the sting, slapping my face like a berzerk!) and then take a photograph. locals call them "little sister of bee" and "man of war". has anyone heard of that? i am sort of interested in it for personal matters, any ideas and suggestions are highly appraised!
