In regards to the recent post about religion and politics having no place
on the list....
Well, maybe.
But what about when they impinge on archaeology? Like legislation or
controversies over [put a religion here] burial excavations or a host of
other topics?  And what about archaeologists interested in research on
the politics and religions of the past?
 
It is not as easy as saying leave politics and religion out of it.
 
The recent posts about the house and the 4th amendment may be extraneous,
but I enjoyed them. Maybe not everyone agrees with the political views of
the sender(s), but if it is/was a factual account, I think it deserves
wide dissemination (did I spell that correctly?).
 
Is it (the politics and religion thing) really a problem when it has only
occurred once? Do we need to make rules about not being allowed to drive
sheep through city hall on a Monday?
