FYI, the Visiting Scholar position at SIU is being funded for next year. I
am the current Visiting Scholar, and it is a wonderful program--especially
for recent PhDs. They don't like to repeat conference themes, so check out
the prior publications here http://cai.siu.edu/vspages/pastconf.html when
crafting your application. This year, the conference was on the
archaeology of slavery, so an African Diaspora theme probably wouldn't be
approved for next year. Feel free to email Heather Lapham ([log in to unmask])
with any questions. Applications are due May 15. Check out prior
application essay examples here: http://cai.siu.edu/vsprogram.html Good
luck!
