Dear Hist Archers,

I am looking for examples of successful remediation or
decontamination of historic buildings associated with explosives or
chemical production.

The former Nobel/ICI explosives factory in Melbourne, Australia
is closing, and decontamination at present will involve demolition,
burning, controlled explosions, excavation of soil, and burial of
debris. This won't leave much of the historic site to preserve.

so if anyone knows of examples that might be used to suggest an
alternative form of management, I would be very appreciative.

	regards
