Then again, given our generally poor understanding (based on references I've
been studying) of concepts like "uniformitarianism" & Steno's "laws of
stratigraphy" & Foucault's "discourse," etc., that we teach our students,
it's obvious we're guilty of making the same mistakes when looking at other
disciplines
