File this under the moniker of "Semantics."
The original Demaree method relied on a swarm that was thrown from a
colony, whereas the "Modified Demaree" method uses the description that
Peter provided, i.e., something similar to an artificial shook swarm method.
Further, the Modified Demaree is a great swarm control method (when applied
early in the season), is a convenient and effective annual re-queening
method, and as a result is a great way to make a surplus of honey. The
only problem is that it's likely too labor intensive for commercial
applications.
