Was preparing two hives in an outyard for new packages coming Monday.
Both hi
had queen failures and had developed laying workers before I got to them.

A couple of frames had some scattered brood cells with holes in the tops of
the cells . I dug around and found fully formed bees in them. The holes
suggested AFB but if that were the case I might have found scales rather
than bees almost
ready to emerge. should have checked last fall - do we ever do what we
should?

Need help deciding what to do - trash both hives, trash just the one super,
or just the two frames with brood remnants?
