Dear Colleague,
In anticipation of the upcoming Einstein Centennial/World Year of
Physics, the NASA-Smithsonian Universe Forum at the
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics is pleased to announce
the kick-off of its "Inside Einstein's Universe" program. Created to
engage diverse audiences in the adventure of NASA's research into key
mysteries of space and time, "Inside Einstein's Universe" offers a
portfolio of resources for use by museums, science centers,
planetariums, and other educational organizations, including three
interactive demonstrations for all ages:
* "Journey to a Black Hole"
* "Journey to the Beginning of Time"
* "Journey through the Expanding Universe"
Proposals are now being accepted for a limited number of
organizations to become Major Partners for "Inside Einstein's
Universe." Institutions wishing to become Major Partners may propose
a budget of up to $5000 for support of "Inside Einstein's Universe"
programming and events. In addition to the financial support, we will
provide a package of activities, programs and demonstrations, as well
as training for use of these materials in your museum, science
center, or planetarium.
Visit http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/seuforum/einstein/ and click on
"Join" to download the Request for Proposals today. Proposal
submissions are due by December 10, 2004. Institutions who do not
become Major Partners can still participate and utilize our "Inside
Einstein's Universe" resources, so be sure to add yourself to our
mailing list!
Other resources included in our "Inside Einstein's Universe" portfolio are:
* Stunning images and visualizations
* Engaging resources for the web
* Professional development opportunities
* Science content and educational support
* Connections with scientists and educations
The Universe Forum is NASA's official partner for teaching and
