ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

On behalf of a crazy group of adult educators and science center folk, we invite you to complete a short survey about older adults and their activities at your science center. The survey can be accessed via the following link, https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/25B7TTQ<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=21749473&msgid=310724&act=4AQM&c=207694&destination=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.surveymonkey.com%2Fs%2F25B7TTQ>. A museum with extensive experience programming for older adults might take 10-15 minutes completing the survey; if your museum is doing less with this audience, the survey will be briefer.

We are a planning team for an NSF proposal to develop a Science Education Center for the Third Age (SECTA), and need data from you about your opportunities and challenges with older adults as learners. To emphasize, we are thinking about older adults as science learners, not necessarily as funders, docents or grandparents escorting their grandchildren. We believe that given the right combination of accessibility, rigor, and pedagogy, adults could swell the ranks of science learners, in museums, zoos, universities and other learning organizations.

We thank you in advance for your time and expertise as we create our SECTA.

Kali Lightfoot, University of Southern Maine
Kurt Feichtmeir, The Exploratorium
Bette Felton, California State University, East Bay
Ara Rogers, University of South Florida
Lucille Salerno, University of Missouri
