Hello Peter & Jerry,
I guess we will have to agree to disagree and let the list members decide.
Jerry speaks to the success of an operation using California package bees
instead of the fact that the amount Smoot uses is a drop in the bucket of
the amount shipped from the package bee states.*Possibly* the smoot bee
packages are not from sick bulk bees?
Peter completely misses the point I presented displaying the spread to the
small beekeepers usually comes through package bees. Small hive beetle
arrival has been traced in most areas to have been from package bees.
Disease and pest spread between commercial beekeepers on pollination is
common but spread to those with a few hives most likely comes from packages
in my (and my friends) opinion .Either directly or buying nucs from a
beekeeper which received his problems in packages recently.
Lets "agree to disagree" as I doubt I will change Peter & Jerry's mind and
what they have presented so far will not change my mind (nor my friends
looking at the lurker emails).
Back at home and need to go to work now at first light due to heat!
Good night all!
bob
