ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
Americans for the Arts did a major study of economic impact for museums and cultural groups nationally and then used the data to develop a calculator you can use to estimate the economic impact of your own organization. They define economic impact as total jobs created at your science center and elsewhere in the community, $$ spent by your visitors, and tax revenues generated for your state and local governments. It will give you typical values for a museum of your size in a similar community. Here's the link.

> Are there any numbers somewhere about the quantifiable value a small science center adds to a community? I am thinking along the lines of increase in property values, job creation, attractiveness to new businesses.
> Thanks for any resources you can share.
