PaleoWest is looking to fill a Field/Project Director position for our Farmington, New Mexico office.  The candidate must possess an advanced degree in Anthropology or another applicable field.  The Field/Project Director will develop and run archaeological projects in New Mexico and will be asked to manage projects in other areas of the West as necessary. This midlevel position offers advancement opportunities in a growing ACRA-member firm. The successful candidate will be fit, resourceful, dedicated, organized, and possess outstanding writing skills. Our Field/Project Directors need to be able to communicate deftly with clients, agencies, tribes, subordinates, and colleagues.  Candidates must have a minimum of 2 – 5 years prior experience managing and supervising survey and excavation projects with an eye towards efficiency and thoroughness.  The position requires the ability to prepare, plan, and execute logistically challenging fieldwork in a successful and independent manner. Familiarity with the historic and prehistoric archaeology of the Southwest is highly preferred for this position.  Successful candidates must be able to quickly learn and effectively use tablet and computer applications. You must be a Registered Professional Archaeologist, or qualified to become one upon hire.
