This was bound to happen. Hold the phone, everyone, regarding this session.

First, the program committee for SHA 2011 is, indeed, aware of the session
that Richard is planning and it sounds terrific.

However, as explained in the email that all symposium organizers receive
automatically, here is how it works. Once you enter in a symposium to the
ConfTool system, you will get an email verifying your submission. This
message will tell you what to do next.

All symposium organizers will receive ANOTHER message AFTER their session is
OFFICIALLY approved. This is a matter of human beings going into the
software and doing things for EACH SESSION. It is NOT an automated
process -- although it does enable us to approve sessions much, much earlier
than "usual".

So, even if we have already given an organizer unofficial "preapproval", or
positive feedback or whatever (as we did for Richard's session) until we
have time to go into the software and "create" the session, it will not
appear in the list of sessions that one can submit to. Needless to say,
unless we chain ourselves to a computer for 24 hours a day for the next 40
days, we will need a day, or perhaps a few days, to do this for each session
that is submitted.

So please hold off on any attempts to submit your individual submissions to
this, or any, session until we have processed it and you have heard from
your organizer that it has been approved.

There is a FAQ on the conference page, on the SHA web site, that attempts to
describe the process. As other questions arise, we will add more information
to this FAQ.

As you might imagine things are pretty busy at the moment.

thank you,

Carol
