> Asking them to draw out plastic hasn't been successful for me. You need
a strong flow and a strong colony to successfully get plastic drawn out.
I (or more properly, my bees, or more properly, the bees that I keep)
successfully draw out several thousand off-the-shelf frames of waxed plastic
foundation every year. No problem for me if I feed 1:1 sucrose in first
box. All the rest are naturally drawn on good flows in the second brood
box. On a good flow, 2nd box of foundation is drawn, filled, and capped in
10 days.
