Kathrina: I know of no archaeological investigations, but there were Filipino sites in Louisiana, villages of people catching and drying shrimp: Manila Village and Bassa-Bassa, both are abandoned now. You might contact Dr.Dayna Lee at EarthSearch Inc. in New Orleans or the La.Division of Archaeoloy re: the status of those sites since hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Good luck. Pete Gregory

Subject: Filipino-American/Filipino archaeology
Hi everyone,
Has anyone excavated or heard of someone excavating a Filipino/Filipino-American site in the U.S.? Or if any Filipino-related artifacts were found in other sites? Does anyone have a research focus of this ethnic group in archaeology specifically in the U.S., rather than the Philippines?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
