Lloyd;  I make up 30 syringes in advance and put them in a bucket and pull
one out for each hive.  Re-fill between yards.  I get 50 ml syringes for
about 50 cents.  If you want to improve the accuracy of the sprayer
technique add a 'T' between the hose and the applicator wand and screw on a
pressure gauge so you can monitor pressure at the wand.  I like Solo brand
sprayers as they are all polyethylene with removable tips and an in-line
filter screen just behind the tip to reduce clogging.  They are translucent
so you can see the fluid levels drop.  They make 1 gal, 2 gal., and
backpacks.  You can substitute any ag sprayer tip and each sprayer comes
with a solid stream tip that shoots a perfect stream for oxalic.  The folks
that apply pesticides to test plots with hand held or backpack sprayers use
compressed air to deliver consistent pressure.  Randy's technique to keep a
graduated cylinder handy to calibrate with should keep the application
accurate.  I like to put a few sticky boards down on the bottom boards
during oxalic application.  I am amazed (and gratified)at the mite drop in
December after getting alcohol wash counts down to 1-2/300 bees 5 months
earlier.
