Timshel,

I have been following the responses for your electrical generation question closely, all are great suggestions and will inspire your visitors - I left our small science center a few years ago to become an education specialist for Nebraska's largest public power company. We are currently hosting a booth at the Nebraska state fair that has several items you might be interested in.

We have an electrical grid challenge that get students involved from generation to delivery, we have a CFL vs. Incandescent (although it is now LED vs. incandescent because we ran out of CFL's!), we have an "electrical strongman" where they try to ring the bell but the most "wow" moment comes from our electrical safety trailer demonstration. Here is a link to a website that has some photos and a short video: http://www.nppd.com/statefairbooth

Another educational component that you might be interested in is our "kiosk" designed for our LEED Gold certified operations center. It has lots of tidbits on energy - some specific to Nebraska but most are general enough to be of use. You can find that information at www.nppd.com/kiosk

You can contact me of the list if you have any questions. I have plenty of small group interactive presentations that go along with this topic as well.
