Take a look at After-School Math Plus if you are thinking "girl
friendly." It's an NSF-funded curriculum/partnership between
afterschool centers and museums and the end-product is an exhibit that
teaches the math that the kids have just learned. The curriculum is
designed to support kids from underrepresented groups (Girls and women
are very underrepresented, as you know!). It was piloted at the NY Hall
of Science and the St. Louis Science Center and field tested at those
and the Louisville Science Center. It's been used very successfully at
the Virginia Museum of Natural History, the Maine Discovery Center, and
the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Mississippi.

Good Morning Everyone,

I am part of a team currently working on the early development of a
"girl-friendly" exhibit project and we're wondering if there are any
existing exhibits out there that we can learn from. Our exhibit will
be
focused on engineering, but we'd like to hear about exhibits on any
topic targeted at girls. We've found lots of interesting programming
to
look at, but not much in the exhibit world. If you know of any
girl-focused exhibits, I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to
contact
me off-list at:
