There is often a focus on the load of AFB spores that could be in the honey
stomachs of swarms. You could imagine that the mandibles of bees that cleaned
up contaminated areas might be more of a risk, capable of delivering the
required number of spores to start a new larva down the road to oblivion. A
spot of wax working might be just the thing they need to get those mandibles
cleaned up.
