Congratulations! That's a great first harvest.
In my experience, it's easier than you think to go through almost 200 lbs of
honey in a year. You THINK you don't have that many friends? Ha!
And it's not just Christmas: there are the last-minute hostess gifts,
birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs, get-well-soon... And if you have a local charity
that serves meals, they'll happily accept a donation (ours does, at any
rate).
I'm not discouraging you from freezing--but you may go through that 170 lbs
more quickly than you think.
