Subject: Durability of moving/sliding flat screens.

Hi all,
I’m thinking about an interactive that would have computer flat screen monitors, mounted flat/horizontally, that move in a linear path on a rail system. Ideally the monitors could not be slammed into the ends of track.
I was wondering if anyone has experience with the failure rate of the monitor, and if known, what the causes of failure were (internal components vibrating free, being smashed/crashed in to the end of the rails, other…)?
Thank you for any help you can give.
