What about... how ideology affects histories of archaeology? Thereby helping
create "popular accounts"?

Title: Archaeology and Popular Narratives: Negotiating Discovery,
Expectation, and Interpretation

Session Abstract: The narratives we encounter amidst the landscapes and
objects we investigate influence our research design, data collection,
analysis, and interpretations. Archaeological data can complicate popular
accounts. This session will explore the dynamics between ideology,
archaeological data, and narrative.
