Dear Colleagues:

Virginia Tech announces a new MA in Material Culture and Public Humanities, jointly administered by the College of Architecture and Urban Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. A 30-hour degree (with the option of an additional six credits if a thesis option is chosen), it will draw upon the expertise of a diverse group of faculty to train students to be able to investigate, analyze, present and articulate the cultural context and significance of objects and sites to the public. The degree prepares students for a wide range of careers in museums, historical societies, and community and cultural organizations. Students will be required to do a 6 credit practicum in a variety of museums and other non-profit institutions. For more information about application and curriculum see http://www.rc.vt.edu/matcult/

Thank you!
