I would like to congratulate the Baltimore SHA Conference Committee and SHA
for a very well run, enjoyable conference in "Charm City" last week. The
hotel was a good venue with all program events other than the Public
Session accommodated. The sessions were well attended and it was nice to have
them fairly close together on the same floor. Having the bookroom easily
accessible was also very nice and there was a good range of publishers and
other vendors in the room.
I enjoyed having a terrestrial archaeologist from out of country address us
in the Plenary Session. That was fascinating information regarding "bog
bodies" from our Irish colleague Dr. Eamonn Kelly. Being a fan of railroad
archaeology, having the reception in the B & O roundhouse was awesome.
I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the four historic ships anchored in the
Inner Harbor, as well. I knew very little about them previously. I
particularly enjoyed visiting the "Chesapeake" Light Ship, a whole genre that I have
missed all of my life.
All in all, a great conference. Thank you.
