I strongly feel(from my observation) that the trouble is during the planting 
of the corn(April and May here). That's when the bees are working the 
dandelions that are growing in the fields that are being planted with corn. 
No-till planting is done here regularly and there is almost always dandelion 
in bloom being dusted and sucking up from the ground what is there from 
previous plantings.
