Thanks for all the suggestions about a way of removing bees from the honey
house. I incorporated several.  What I ended up doing was sawing a 4"" piece
of PVC into(lengthwise), and using one half to create a corridor that
extended over the glass about 6 in (had to do a little carving to make it
conform) and extending this to a hole cut through the frame . This hole went
outside into a screen funnel. What seemed to help was coating the inside
with aluminum foil so that the light from outside was channeled so the bees
would go for the light. In addition I used a pheromone lure that drew them
into the tube.
I wouldn't call it the "cats meow" but it is a definite improvement.
