ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hello,

Like many other science centres, the majority of our visitors M-F September to June are students visiting with their teachers. The teachers' motivation to visit and our key selling feature to them is the way in which we link our offerings to the Science & Technology curriculum. We fulfill this by offering curriculum-linked programs and by having some paper-based teacher guides that link these
programs to some on-floor exhibits. However, we have not developed new exhibits with the intent of integrating concepts from the curriculum within them.

In order to better serve our education audience, we are now considering ways in which we will integrate curriculum into select new and existing exhibits. We believe that different exhibits could lend themselves to different methods of doing so, such as technology (tablets, smart phones); design; graphic panels; exhibit guides; audio guides; etc etc.

I'm interested in if other centres have incorporated the formal science curriculum into exhibits, and if so, what has been the most successful and effective way of doing so. Many thanks in advance for your responses.

Catherine
