I sent Wegmans, our local food store, the Food Safety News article about
honey with no pollen. Below is their reply. Anyone else ask their local
food store about the honey they carry??? And if you did, did you get any
response?

Mr. LaMonica, thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding the
Wegmans Honey. Our supplier will only use reputable suppliers from the
USA, Canada, and Argentina. Our supplier is SQF certified and a founding
member of TrueSource Honey (
www.truesourcehoney.com<http://www.truesourcehoney.com/<http://www.truesourcehoney.com/>
>).
The US only produced 144 million pounds of honey in 2009, while our
national consumption is nearly 400 million pounds. If we could source honey
from the US only, we would, but that is not feasible. We take the upmost
care in selecting our suppliers both in the US and abroad. All the raw
honeys are tested by our suppliers quality assurance department before they
are permitted to be sold to our customers.
Sincerely,
Cathy Lombard
