What triggered my question on plastic was I wondered how commercial
operations build up quickly for almonds. If the colonies come from cold
weather, like the Dakotas and the like, how can you get them brooding up in
the cold? My guess is you don't but you stage them from the cold to a warmer
area where they are fed and built up. But maybe not. So I wondered if there
was a way to do it and obviously, what I thought was correct, to wait for
normal flows to start which is what I have done in the past with wax
foundation, is correct. Or not.
So how does a commercial operation operating out of a cold winter climate
get the bees ready for Almonds? Especially since there usually is a minimum
number of frames that have to be covered.
