This year I timed it right. Bees from Mississipi to me (Indiana) were
in cages less than 22 hours. That was probably not enough time, hence
the need for candy. The added bonus: virtually no dead bees at the
bottom of each package.
By the way, has anyone considered how much a bee package is similar
to the hold of a slave ship? My goal this year was to have the bees
jammed together like that for as little time as possible.
