The only proven eradication method I know about is to get rid of your hives. Now, with that stupid suggestion out of the way, there is no "proven" method of control. We've had the SHB down here in LA (Lower Alabama) for four to five years now. The best method for control is to maintain strong hives kept in direct sunlight. I've used SHB traps that insert between the top bars of frames. Here are a couple of sources:
