We frequently use the concept express in Tapping the Bees to define if a nuc
is queenless or not. As we do a very early check of queen mating, before
opening the nucs we Tap them. If the noise is short most probably the queen
is mated and laying, if the noise persist for a while, most probably she is
not mated or the nuc is queenless.
