NASA actually has some good archaeology lesson plans on their site. There was a great activity that demonstrated remote sensing with a box and some foil and some probes. it was very well done. We hosted the NASA Historic Preservation Officers from arund the country at Jamestown in 2007.

Subject: Science!

Hi all- The Archaeological Society of South Carolina's annual Fall Field Day
event, which will be held at Charles Towne Landing (in Charleston) state
historic site on October 9, 2010 will feature the "Science of Archaeology" this
year. By "Science" we mean remote sensing, thermoluminescence and that sort of
thing - not "processual" archaeology necessarily. Can anyone point me to good
web sites on the subject that I can send our members to? Also, anyone who wants
to participate by mounting a display or putting on a demonstration can contact
me for more info. This is a public event, so all are welcome. A perfect excuse
to spend a weekend in Charleston....
thanks,
Carl Steen
