Hello everyone,
Our museum is looking to reorganize our museum structure, specifically as
it relates to content development. It would be very useful to learn about
the way other museums are structured. Which divisions do you have in your
museum - Exhibits, Education, Operations, Marketing, Administrative, etc.?
What departments are within those divisions, and how are the
responsibilities divided? What do you do when different divisions have
overlapping responsibilities, like digital media, that are included in both
marketing and exhibits?
We're most interested in the department that addresses content for
education, visitor programs, exhibits, and grant-writing, etc.
Does your museum have a department like this? If so, what are the
positions and roles/responsibilities of the people in this department? Who
is in charge of the department? What division does it fall under?
Any other tips?
Happy new week
Tal
