I am very keen to see if anyone can provide an age range for this pen
nib. We have the same pen nib in our social history collection but
unfortunately it does not have a date associated with it.
It reads 'JOSEPH / GILLOTT'S / PUBLIC PEN' with the number '292' and the
letter 'F' denoting the model.
It may well be that the Joseph Gillott Public Pen 292 F was used for 30
years or more. Ideally I would like an idea of the age that this model
came into circulation. I am very keen to see if there is someone out
there with some knowledge of these things. We have sent a few emails to
the Birmingham pen nib museum but have not heard anything from them yet.
A reference would also be great.
